We want esforge.com to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, or reduced-motion settings. This statement describes where we currently stand — including what we have not yet verified.
Target standard
We are working towards WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We have not yet commissioned a formal third-party audit, so we cannot claim conformance. This page will be updated with the result when that audit is complete.
What we have done
- Every image carries descriptive alternative text, or is marked decorative where it carries no information.
- Interactive controls are reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Animation and transitions respect the operating system’s reduced-motion setting.
- Forms use real labels tied to their inputs, and errors are described in text rather than by colour alone.
- Page structure uses correct heading order and landmark regions.
- The site works at 200% zoom and reflows to narrow viewports without horizontal scrolling.
Known limitations
We are aware of the following and are working on them:
- The interactive 3D demonstrations are visual by nature. Each carries a text description of what it shows, but the demonstrations themselves cannot be operated by screen reader.
- Some colour combinations in the darker sections may fall below the 4.5:1 contrast ratio for body text. These are being reviewed.
- Video content does not yet have captions throughout.
- Third-party embeds, including scheduling and video, are outside our direct control and may not meet the same standard.
Assistive technology we test with
- Keyboard-only navigation in current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge
- Operating-system reduced-motion and increased-contrast settings
- Browser zoom to 200%
